IRITTY (Kannur): The police filed cases against eight CPM workers in connection with the attack on an RSS worker near the Thillankerry Panchayat Office.
RSS worker Anoop, 26, was stabbed by an alleged group of CPM workers on Wednesday. Anoop, who sustained serious injuries on his hands and legs, was admitted to the Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode.
The BJP organised a hartal in Thillankerry and Kizhur-Chavassery panchayats on Thursday.Tension prevails in the area following the stabbing and the efforts made by the police to arrest the culprits involved in the incident.
Senior police officials visited the area. Deployment of police force has been strengthened following the clashes between CPM and RSS workers.
