Untouchability is alien to Hindu Dharma

Pujya Viswesha Theertha, Pejawar Muth

“we are all equal Hindus. There is no place for untouchability in Hindu Dharma. Even to day some of our own Hindu brothers were being discriminated in the name of untouchability at wells and temples. Caste is not a criteria for ones highness.  Having good qualities is the criteria for own highness. There is a  story in Sreemath Bhagavatham. There is a person, Bramhin by birth. He is well versed in sanatan sahitya.  He had  no bhakthi. On the otherhand there is a person, a Harijan by birth. He did not study any books.  But his heart is full of bhakthi.  Among these two persons who is great?  Sreemath Bhagavatha  declares that uneducated Harijan is great.  SreeRama, Sreekrishna, Durgamatha....these dieties are being worshipped by all Hindus. There is  no place for caste discrimination, untouchability in Hindu Dharma. We have to abandon these ill practices.  Any body among you are experiencing untouchability?  If there is any problem, complaint to me.  I am prepared to solve your problems.  VHP is comitted to remove  untouchability from our society.  If you have any problem, bring your problem to the notice of VHP workers.  They will solve the problems.’’ This call was given byPujya Sree Viswesha Theertha,Pejawar math on the  occasion of Chaturmasa Deeskha.

On 26th of August Pujya Swamiji toured Fathenagar and addressed the public at Shivalayam and at community hall.  He interacted with local people in Dr. Ambedkar - Jagajeevan Ram colony.  On 30th August his padayatra  covered  chandriah huts area of  Madannapeta.  He visited some of the houses and lit the lamp in  puja gruha. His padayatra and meeting were conducted as usual despite  pouring rain.  People heard his massage even in pouring rain.  The local people gave him a warm welcome. This programme was organised by local Samajika Samarastha Munch.
