Accusing the Congress-led UPA Government for fooling and shattering the dreams of country’s youth, BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi said that the Delhi Government had promised in the last Budget (2013) to train 10 lakh youngsters with some or other skill and allocated Rs 1,000 crore, but in reality they could train hardly over 18,000, which is less than 5 per cent of what they guaranteed.
Addressing ‘Vijay Shankhnad Yuva Sangam’ rally at Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad in which more than 1 lakh youngsters congregated from across the State, Modi said that if they (Congress) would keep on working with same style, it would take 20 years to train 10 lakh youth.
“Now the time has come to change those people who believe in mere promises. The young people of this country want a Government with honest intentions to fulfil their dream. The BJP has come with intentions to empower youth with skill development and to create opportunities for them,” said that Gujarat Chief Minister, adding that storm of change has converted into tsunami and it will wipe out the Congress the way it was thrown out of power after the emergency in 1977.
In the general elections-2014 the fight is not between two political parties, but people are fighting against the Congress, he said adding that this polls were unique as even before voting people have given their verdict (in favour of BJP).
He said that India is the youngest country in the world with 65 per cent below 35 years and in coming years it would get even younger with an average age of 29 years. “Sadly, for the Congress youth is just a voter. But for us youth is power. We not only want development of youth but youth-led development.
‘Youth Power’ can’t be ignored; otherwise it would become a disaster. Thus, it is the responsibility of the national leadership to generate opportunities and ensure their involvement in nation building, he added.
Raking ‘Tea Boy’ jibe again, Modi said that the Ministers in the UPA Government were angry over the fact that a ‘Tea Seller’ openly challenged them. “They may create hurdles through CBI, legal disputes and spray mud on me, but it wouldn’t be enough to stop blossoming lotus,” he said.
