Centre Sends More forces To Control Jammu and Kashmir Unrest

The government of India is sending additional Central Armed Police Forces to Jammu and Kashmir to bring the situation under control without any further loss of lives. The decision was taken at high level meeting held in Delhi to review the situation and assess the requirements chaired by Union Home Secretary

In the last four days of unrest in the valley, five civilians were died in clashes between security forces and protesting civilians, following an alleged rumor of security personal molesting a teenage girl at Handwara, 85 kms away from Srinagar on Tuesday.

The curfew-like restrictions were imposed in most parts of Kashmir to control the protestors who were targeting the army check points and security forces.

The Home Ministry in its statement said it is in regular touch with senior officials of J&K government and has been monitoring the situation on a regular basis.
