Death of Three Civilians Disturbs Law and Order In Jammu and Kashmir



The death of three local youth in the fire initiated by armed forces in Handwara, Jammu and Kashmir to control protestors who gathered on the alleged to be rumor of army personal misbehaving a two local girls, has disturbed the law and order situation in the valley.

The rumor said to be in air around 3: 45 pm on Tuesday at Handwara, around 85 kms north of Srinagar, was that two local girls attending a washroom nearby bunker were misbehaved by security personal, and it was caught by youth and alerted others who rushed to spot and started pelting stones and tried to set up bunker on fire.

However, the army denied this rumor and released a statement of the woman who said to be victim, said that it was not the army, but the conspiracy of two local youth who suddenly slapped her when she was coming out of washroom and alerted others.

The deceased civilians were identified Muhammad Iqbal (22 yrs), Nayeem Bhat (21 yrs)  and Raja Begum, (54 yrs).


Both the government and army ordered an inquiry into this incident and said the culprits will be dealt as per the law.
