“Milking the environment is Hindu life style not killing in
the name of development. Keeping this in view, it is time to reconnect our
society towards organic farming for healthy and prosperous nation,” said Sri
Kacham Ramesh, Madhyakshetra Boudhik Pramukh of RSS, on the occasion of “Farmers
Day” celebrations organised by Bhartiya Kisan Sangh Telangana in Hyderabad on
11th September, 2016.
On this occasion, 30 farmers who are practicing complete organic
farming methods and having not less than 6 cows were felicitated by organisers.
In this, six of them were young farmers who left their lucrative software jobs and
became proud professional farmers. Over 500 farmers coming across the Telangana
state attended this event.
Ramesh ji added that when rest of the world was struggling with
healthy food culture, Indians were following the farming methods quoted in RigVeda
for centuries. Farming is the best profession and people adopting organic
farming in this technological era are highly respected.
Sri Praveen Rao, the vice-chancellor of Acharya Jayashankar
Agriculture University, said, “Doubling the farmers income is our objective and
we are putting all efforts in this direction as per the guidelines given by
central government.”
“By organic farming, farmers can completely avoid the risk
of fake seeds and excessive chemicals usage that impacts the fertility of soil
and food products,” he added.
Sri Paryada Anji Reddy, president of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Telangana
state, said “It is our duty to protect our healthy food habits and pass them to
next generation. Farmers Day celebrations are aimed at restoring the respect to
the farming profession and recollect the rich Hindu farming culture”.
