Surya Namaskar perform by 70 lakh student and staff in MP

in MP schools

By Neha Sharma, Bhopal , Thursday, January 12 : About 70 lakh persons performed Surya Namaskar in 6 thousand schools in the state rising above caste and religion affiliations and gave the message of Urjawan Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan took part in Surya Namaskar programme at Naveen Higher Secondary School at Arera Colony, Bhopal. At the programme Pranayam, Anulom-Vilom and Surya Namaskar were performed at one single signal.

School Education Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis attended Surya Namaskar programme at Nehru Montessori School at Burhanpur and Minister of State for Education Shri Nanabhau Mohod at Excellence School at Saunsar. It was sixth mass Surya Namaskar in the state on the occasion of Vivekananda Jayanti. It will be perhaps a world record that over 70 lakh persons participated in Surya Namaskar programme simultaneously. The Public Instructions Department is still compiling figures of participation of people in the programme in the remote areas of the state.

News of enthusiastic participation in Surya Namaskar programme have been received from all over the state. Ministers have also participated in the programme in a number of districts. Public Health Minister Shri Gaurishankar Bisen participated in mass Surya Namaskar programme at Mulant stadium in Balaghat district. There is news of one lakh 41 thousand students’ participation in Katni district. Water Resources Minister Shri Jayant Malaiya took part in Surya Namaskar programme at Government Excellence School, Damoh while Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur participated in the programme at Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School, BHEL, Bhopal.

Minister of State for Mineral Resources Shri Rajendra Shukla took part in Surya Namaskar programme in Rewa district. Minister of State for Urban Administration & Development Shri Dev Singh Sayyam participated in the programme at the High School of village Ramdevri in Mandla district. Mass Surya Namaskar programme was held at Ujjain in the presence of Jan Abhiyan Parishad Vice-Chairman Shri Pradeep Pandey and Ujjain Development Authority Chairman Shri Kishore Khandelwal. Minister of State for Urban Administration & Development Shri Manohar Untwal took part in mass Surya Namaskar programme at the school of village Avadia in Alot tahsil of Ratlam district. Local MLA participated in the programme at Sidhi. Thousands of children performed Surya Namaskar in 738 schools at Indore. Mayor and several other people’s representatives participated in the programme at Swami Vivekananda Higher Secondary School.

Thousands of children also took part in mass Surya Namaskar in Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khandwa, Barwani and Khargone districts in Indore division. Minister of State for Food & Civil Supplies Shri Paras Chandra Jain took part in the programme at Garoth in Mandsaur district and Transport Minister Shri Jagdish Deora at Malhargarh. Incharge Minister of the district and Home Minister Shri Umashankar Gupta took part in the mass Surya Namaskar programme at Pandit Lajjashankar Jha Higher Secondary School, Jabalpur and Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Ajay Vishnoi at Maharani Laxmibai Girls Higher Secondary School. Surya Namaskar was performed in all the districts of Gwalior-Chambal and Sagar divisions.

Throughout the state, boy and girl students assembled in their respective educational institutions at 9 am for Surya Namaskar. Broadcast from All India Radio started at 9.15 am. After Mangalacharn and Vande Matram, the radio broadcast the recorded Chicago Message of Swami Vivekananda. Later, Madhya Pradesh Gaan and message of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan were broadcast. Surya Namaskar started at 9.40 am and concluded in total three rounds. Twelve asanas were performed in the first round. Later, Anulom-vilom, Bhastrika and Bhramari Pranayam were performed.
