Grand Success 'Run for the Nation' at Peoples' Plaza


Grand Success the programme "Run for the Nation"  was held on 11th August 2013, on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary at Peoples' Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. Ten Thousands of youth participated in this program.

The programme which was organised by Swami Vivekananda 150th Jyanthi Utsava Samithi, commenced at Peoples' Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. The 'Run' was organised at Lumbini park at around 10.30 am and concluded at the People’s Plaza, Necklace Road. The Grand Public Meeting held at 11.15 am at Peoples' Plaza after the Run.

Prof.T.Tirupati Rao presided over the meeting. Pujya Gyanadananda Swami of Ramakrishna Math, Dr.Rameswara Rao Vice Chancellor JNTU, Justice C.V.Ramulu, Sri S.M.Arif, Dronacharya Awardee, Sri Aravinda Rao, DGP Retd., Sri Shyam Kumar of RSS and other pramukhs were participated. 

Addressing the gathering, former DGP K Aravinda Rao, said that people should aspire to become like Swami Vivekananda and should get rid of the mentality of a slave. He added that, in Chicago, Swami Vivekananda, on one hand spoke about the prominence of Indian culture and on the other hand pointed out the ills of society and suggested solutions for them.

Swami Gyanadhananda, Ramakrishna Math, said that in the Chicago gathering which was attended by as many as 7,000 people, when Swami Vivekananda addressed them as “Brothers and Sisters of America”, he was appreciated by a thunderous applause which lasted for three minutes. Pujya Swamiji had pledged by the youth which participated in the programme that, "I will work on that My Country's prosperity is My prosperity". 

The meeting was concluded with the pledge.

The programm held in all the districts of the state, and Lakhs of youth participated in this programmes at State wide.
