Sah-Sanghchalak of RSS Punjab Prant Brig
(Retd) Jagdish Gagneja who was injured in a gun attack on August 6,
breathed his last on 22 September,2016 at a hospital here.
It may be noted that Gagneja was shot at
by some unidentified attackers at Jalandhar. He was admitted in a
serious condition at Ludhiana hospital next day.
The 65-year-old Brigadier breathed his
last at 9.16 am at the Hero DMC Heart Institute here, after battling for 47 days with grave injuries. Besides members of his family, senior
RSS and BJP leaders were present at the hospital. Police Commissioner
Jatinder Singh and Ludhiana ADC Dr Rishi Pal were prominent among those
present.
RSS expressed deep condolences for the demise of Jagdish Gagneja. A
local RSS functionary read out the message of Sangh general secretary
Bhaiyyaji Joshi before the funeral.

Gagneja, performed the last rites.
Punjab governor VP Singh Badnore, who was in Ludhiana, laid a wreath.
RSS and BJP workers paid tributes amid slogans of ‘Bharat mata ki jai’
and ‘Vande mataram’. There was resentment among them over the police
failure to arrest the attackers.
The police have failed to so far to
crack the case. Following this, the case was handed over the CBI.
Terrorist angle to this attack is not entirely ruled out.
