The authorities of Jammu and Kashmir has reimposed the
curfew after a brief relaxation today following some fresh stone pelting at
security forces in Hindwara district and in neighbouring Kralgund and Trehgam
areas, while mobile internet services were restored in the valley.
Last week, five civilians were killed in the clashes between
security forces and people when a rumour of alleging army personal involved in molesting
girl when she visited the washroom nearby army check post. However, the girl denied
of any wrong doing by any army personal in her statement before the local judiciary
and said it was some local youth who tried to misbehave with her. This was the
same statement she made on the next day of incident. Earlier, her mother differed
with her daughter’s version and pointed fingers against army.
Army cheif General Dalbir Singh Suhag was also in the valley
on Sunday and was briefed about the security situation. The central government
and army are closely observing the happenings in state. The extra forces were deployed
to handle any untoward incidents that may arise.
Speaking to reporters, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister
Mehbooba Mufti said, "I appeal to my people especially to the youth that
wherever there is injustice, strict action would be taken and severe punishment
would be given."
Nirmal Singh, deputy chief minister said, "Definitely
there is a conspiracy to disturb peace in areas like Kupwara and Handwara.
These areas remained peaceful when there was turmoil in other parts (of the
Valley).
"The anti-national elements, the anti-people elements
have succeeded in creating a rumour which ultimately led to the unfortunate
situation (violence)," Singh added.
By observing all these happenings it is becoming more clear that
provoking the police into firing on civilians is the primary motive of conspirators
who want to disturb the peace to suit their agenda.
