University of Hyderabad Says No To Yogendra Yadav In Campus



University of Hyderabad denied entry to professor Yogendra Yadav, of the Swaraj Abhiyan, and Chaya Ratan, retired IAS, who tried to enter into the campus to address the proposed meeting by students at 3 PM on 1 st April.
 
Yogendra Yadav who lectured his voice at outside, termed it as “gate speech” and accused university is functioning like as an industry or a factory and resembles like labour movements.

A day before this, three MP’s belonging to CPI (M) from Kerala, and Teesta Satalvad was not given permission into UoH as per newly imposed restrictions on entry to outsiders. However, it seems that these loosing left leaned academicians and politicians are trying their best to document their presence at University of Hyderabad, following the death of Ph.D student Rohit Vemula two months ago.

The protesting students against the return of VC Appa Rao vented their anger on social with posts like ‘militarization of campus’, ‘jail like treatment’, ‘Jalilistan’, ‘welcome to University of Hyderabad Jail’.

Earlier on the day, university registrar formally lodged a complaint at Gachibowly Police Station stating a group of 30-40 students laid siege the administrative building and obstructing the entry of staff into it. However, without any action the students left themselves by 2:30 pm.


Meanwhile, the Congress MP V. Hanmantha Rao filed Public Interest Litigation (PIL) at the Hyderabad High Court urging the transfer of current VC App Rao accusing him to be main responsible for the death of scholar Rohit Vemula.
