Jyothi, a devotee of lord Venkateshwara, donated 500
saplings and they were placed at “Dwaja sthambam”. The priests of the temple
after performing puja to these saplings, handed over 2 saplings each to the visiting devotees and they were asked to do two
roundups ( Pradakshana) by holding them on top of the head.
The temple authorities say they conducted this ritual to
bring awareness in the people on the importance of planting trees.
