Former Parliamentarian Shahid Siddiqui on Monday said that the Muslims should not fear the BJP and its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as this politically instilled fear would push them into political and economic ghettos.
Siddiqui, an eminent journalist associated with the Urdu paper Nayi Duniya, also said that the Muslim community should vote on the basis of merit and not under any outside influence.
“Fear of BJP or Modi should not colour the mind of Muslims. Politics of fear has pushed them into a political and economic ghetto.They should vote on merit,” Siddiqui wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, Siddiqui had said that Modi is increasingly becoming acceptable to the development-seeking Muslim youth of India.
