Students marching with the Indian national flag in the premises
of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, were obstructed and
laticharged by state police. Four students’ sustained injuries in the police laticharge, as soon situation becoming tense, the two companies of Central Reserve
Police Force was deployed at the campus on the Tuesday night.
The ministry of HRD send two member fact-finding team on
Wednesday morning which will assess the situation at NIT, then speak with students and authorities about the on-going events before reporting to back .
Home Minister Rajnath Singh said in his tweet that he
spoke with CM of J&K and asked her to look into the issue.

There are reports that several college students in the Jammu
region has raised the national flag in solidarity with NIT Srinagar. As the day progressed NIT Srinagar students raised the national flag too in the campus.
The NIT was limping back to normalcy following the last Friday’s
clash between student who were divided into two groups, supporting and opposing
Indian cricket team during the T20 World Cup semi-finals between India vs West
Indies. After these clashes, the NIT was
closed for two days and reopened on Tuesday.
