It's a massive setback to Congress vice-president Rahul
Gandhi in connection with defamation case against him in which he blamed RSS
for assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
Flaying Rahul Gandhi, the Supreme Court on Tuesday asked him
to apologise or face trial for blaming RSS for assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.
"The case must be decided on merits, whether what you
spoke was for public good or not," SC observed.
"You can't make denunciation of an organisation,"
SC said giving ultimatum to Rahul Gandhi.
The apex court has given time till July 27th (Wednesday) to
Rahul Gandhi to detail his arguments.
Reacting to the SC's observation, RSS said that the apex
court's ruling has exposed Congress party.
RSS ideologue Rakesh Sinha speaking to ANI, said," If he has even a bit of
respect for the court, he will apologise. If he doesn’t apologise, he will ha
to frequently visit the court. Let me tell him, his party member Sitaram Kesri
had associated the RSS with the murder of Gandhi and he had to apologise.
Another leader Arjun Singh had to frequently visit the court. A renowened
columnist A. G. Noorani had to apologise.”
"Defamation case is not ordinary. The politics of the
Nehru family for the three generations goes on the bases of lie. Its proof is
from Jawaharlala Nehru to Rahul Gamdhi. They are putting in such a blame which
has been rejected by the court, “ he added.
In 1965, Indira ji had constituted the Kapur Commission. It
examined the matter and submitted the report in 1979 where the RSS was
associated with the murder of (Mahathma) Gandhi,” Sinha further added.
Rahul Gandhi had accused RSS of Mahatma Gandhi's
assassination.
Earlier, Rahul had asked SC to reject the matter.
